Lower Yellowstone Falls

Lower Falls of Yellowstone,
pattern www.Storyquilts.com by Helene Knott
I made this quilt to be raffle off in Gardiner Montana which is the North entrance to Yellowstone Park, and also my home. The proceeds will also go towards the Climb for Clean Air 2010 American Lung Association. This was a fun quilt to do...the fun was really in finding the material, some of which came from the Mistletoe Ranch in Hill City SD. I made my table into a light table so that I could place the pieces a lot easier. I did learn a very good lesson when I quilted it... I thought I would be smart and do all the same color of thread at one time, instead of changing threads, but when I did this on my long arm quilter I forgot that the front ,batting and backing are all done at the same time, so when I went back up to do another color the entire quilt was stitched together, so then I had to remove in from the frame, and then everything shifted...oops Lesson learned here...was not to be lazy and try and cheat...
